NICOYA & FRIENDS MISSION
Managua, Nicaragua
In Nicaragua 7 out of 10 cases of sexual violation are
committed against a girl or adolescent under that age
of 18. There are many cases of human trafficking
among children in Nicaragua. Children are sold in
and out of the country, and when they are rescued the
government doesn't have a place for them. Many of
these children do not have a home to return to. In
January 2005, as a response to this problem,
Doramaria Garcia formed Nicoya & Friends
Foundation as a non-profit organization whose main
objective is to provide a home along with psychological,
legal and social assistance to Nicaraguan chldren (boys
& girls) who have been victims of sexual abuse and
trafficking. At present Nicoya & Friends is renting, but
their goal is to purchase a house. This home would be
the first center of this type to provide a permanent home
for the children.
NEWLY PLANNED "HYBRID" PROJECT

Free For Life Ministries, Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee and
Grace Hand Project of Mbeya, Tanzania are pleased to
announce their plans to open a "hybrid" venture that will
house a safe house for victims of human trafficking in
Sub-Saharan Africa and conference/training facilities.  This
project will also contain a restaurant and a hotel as a non-profit
business venture that will support the safe house programs.

This will be a major step ahead to help the battle against human
trafficking in this region.  Projects will include:

A major conference facility - this facility will be modular so that
we can accommodate large crowds or divide the facility up into
smaller classrooms.  We will use this facility for conferences,
training of at-risk individuals how to avoid becoming a victim of
human trafficking, HIV prevention and training for the young
people of Africa, and a place for organizations to rent for their
meetings and conferences.

A hotel facility - this 35 bed hotel will provide housing for
visitors to the region, for young people that come for training,
and again will be a commercial venture to help support the
work against human trafficking.

A safe house - this will be a 15-bed facility used to house
victims that have been rescued from human trafficking
throughout the Subsahara region of Africa.  Here they will
reside for anywhere from 3 months to 2 years, receive
education, job training, counseling, and support that will allow
them to regain their freedom and start their lives over again.
An important part of this program will be to provide business
training and micro-loans for survivors to start new business
and have independence.

A restaurant - that will be available for all who use the facilities,
and to provide nourishing meals for the victims who are
staying in the safe house.
